Hey, you don't know me, but I am deeply sorry. I know how hard it can be. Trust me. I'm a missionary kid, 19, and I have lived in the Philippines my whole life. Some of my best friends are MK's from the Czech Republic. I wonder if you know them...

Transitioning back to the place everyone tells you you're supposed to call "home" is really difficult. This summer, I did an internship with MK2MK a branch of Campus Crusade for MK's, and I was a leader on a 5 week trip to Mexico with all MK's, it was amazing, and God taught me a lot about my own transitioning experience and how to help others with theirs. If you ever want to talk or vent or ask me questions about the culture in the U.S. or anything, you can add me as a friend on facebook (Sharon Lynn Whelchel) or e-mail me, uhhh_grunt@yahoo.com. I'm praying for you friend! Psalm 139 is my favorite verse for transition. When no one else understands you or what you are going through or all the memories you have, remember that He was with you the whole time you were in the Czech Republic and is still the same God in the U.S. as in He was when you were home. He knows you and understands you. :)

Don't be afraid or ashamed to grieve what you have lost, it's ok, it's natural, because you've not only lost your friends and your home, but you have lost a place and a culture. As MK's, we all love new cultures, so my one piece of advice to you is to view the U.S. as a brand new culture, and you will find that you can be still be adaptable, just like you would be in any other country. :)

Hola, I was googling other missionary kid blogs and found this one! I am truely sorry that you are going through a hard time. I didn't grow up on the field, but parents and I just moved onto the field almost two years ago. Through everything that you are going to go through please know that God will be there even when you feel as if everyone else has abandoned you. Stay strong and rememeber that you have something that none of them will ever have or be able to understand. Don't give up.
